In a boring but completely relevant update, starting today, airlines must advertise their airfares inclusive of taxes and fees. While this means no more “$9″ sales from Spirit and the likes, you’ll never have sticker shock at the end of a 20 minute booking session when the final price jumps by several hundred dollars.
So this is just a reminder to keep this in mind next time an airline runs a fare sale and the prices display higher than you’re used to seeing. You’re not paying more; you’re just seeing the real price earlier in the booking process.

Traveling overseas, and want to avoid insane roaming charges while using your data plan? You might want to leave your phone behind and rent one instead.
Launched by a firm called Tep, the pocket Wi-Fi device turns 3G signals from overseas operators into a wireless connection to offer free internet browsing.
The rented smartphones also offer free internet access and the ability to make calls and texts at local rates.
Renting a phone means that travelers would be without important numbers saved to their primary work devices, but Tep suggests overcoming this by copying data from the personal SIM to the rented phone and then deleting the data before returning the handset.
All devices can be posted to a home address or hotel, or picked up at the airport, and can be returned in a postage-paid envelope. Tep will also erase any data left on devices to relieve worries of compromised information.
Access to a Tep smartphone – currently Samsung’s MiniS or Europa Android devices – or the Wi-Fi hotspot costs £4.95 per day, with unlimited internet access and calls and texts at local rates.
Wi-Fi in hotel rooms can be very expensive, up to $30 in some hotels, not to mention, finding Wi-Fi in an unfamiliar city is not always easy. If you know you will be heavily dependent on wi-fi while abroad (you too, facebook addict), then this is definitely something worth looking into.

When you need your caffeine fix, there’s plenty of airplanes where you can grab a cup of your favorite joe from the comfort of 16F.

United Airlines:
There’s no lattes or fancy stuff, but when you’re stuck at 35,000-feet above the ground you take what you can get—especially when it’s one of the free beverage options.
Porter Airlines:
Both in their lounges—at Toronto City Airport and Ottawa International Airport—and in the air, Starbucks is an option. They are now brewing Starbucks Pike Place Roast up in the skies, and apparently they’re the only one in the world to do so.
easyJet:
The airline carries that Starbucks VIA instant coffee stuff but it will set you back a few bucks per pack.
Horizon Air:
Horizon Air has in-flight beverages covered. Not only do their offer up free beer and wine on all their flights, but they’re also brewing some pretty decent stuff in the airplane’s galley. Starbucks is free for everyone on board, and they also offer up the Tazo brand teas. It’s especially saavy for an airline like Horizon which frequents wet and chilly Seattle and the Northwest where good coffee is a NEED!
All Nippon Airways:
They’re following the path of easyJet and charging for sticks of the VIA coffee option at like 200 yen per package—that’s $2.50 or so. It’s hard to resist some of the fancy teas that you’d never find back here in the states, but if you aren’t into tea then Starbucks is just a credit card swipe away.
